Basic Obedience

offered in-home or through board and train programs, our obedience programs focus on teaching you how to better communicate with your dog and build a relationship that will allow you both to experience a greater sense of freedom and trust. Training begins in calmer, low-distraction settings where we can focus on making sure your dog truly understands each command, and then we want to incorporate distractions into the training, making it functional for your everyday life. Some sessions often occur at public places such as the park, the pet store, or other pet-friendly places you wish to frequent with your dog.

Training can be started as early as 8 weeks. Obedience is offered at two levels – pet and working dog. We train on leash first, off leash second, and offer free monthly group classes once your dog has completed on and off leash obedience, so you have somewhere to continue practicing and asking questions.

Programs are specific to your issues and goals, so pricing varies depending on the severity of issues and the extent of your goals. In-home training start in the $1500-2000 range, and board and train programs start at $2500 for 2 weeks and $3500 for 4 weeks. In-person evaluations are $100, which applies towards any program you sign up for.

Behavior Modification

for dogs who have a solid understanding of obedience but need behavior modification in certain areas. We work with all breeds and temperaments and deal with all issues including fear/anxiety, aggression, and resource guarding.

Retrieval Training

functional training for your dog to hold, carry, and retrieve items. Done in 3 parts. Part one is holding and carrying items. Part two is retrieving items and bringing them to you. Part three is dependent on your goals but can include strength/endurance training to retrieve and carry heavier or more difficult items, object differentiation (knowing which specific item you want), or advanced tasks like putting an item in the trash can or getting an item out of the fridge.

Utility Training

Teaching your dog how to jump/climb on or under obstacles, walk on uneven surfaces, become familiar with walking or jumping on different textures like metal or wood. Utility training is a great confidence booster as your dog learns that these “scary” things aren’t so scary when we guide them through it and conquer them together.

Scent work

Teaching your dog to track a scent either through the air or along the ground.

Therapy Dog Training

Getting your dog prepared for high-distraction environments with frequent interactions from new people so that they can pass the certification test required for the venue you wish to visit with your dog.

Service Dog/Task Training

Intended for individuals with a medical need for a service dog, training begins with temperament testing and basic obedience. We can also help with the matchmaking process of finding a service dog for you. Once obedience is complete, we can start to work on advanced training such as retrieval, utility, or therapy, as well as specific tasks to help with your needs (mobility assistance, deep pressure therapy, etc.).

Protection Training

Personal protection training, done in 3 levels. Level one is suspicion level building, in which we teach the dog how to alert to a threat. Second level is a defensive bite, and third level is an offensive bite.

Puppy Selection/Matchmaking

Assistance in finding and selecting the right dog for you. We can help match you with reputable breeders or help you find a dog at the local shelter or rescue.

Boarding

Going out of town? We also offer boarding for current and past client dogs.
