Our Philosophy
We are balanced trainers. This means that there is a strong emphasis on positive reinforcement, but we also use corrections in our training.
We believe we should paint the whole picture for our dogs, showing them what we want them to do in a situation, and correcting bad behavior if necessary. We train with a leash and collar first for that reason. It is easier to guide our dogs through situations if we have a leash attached. Once your dog has a solid foundation, then we address those same issues without a leash attached (starting with a thin nylon leash so they feel free but can’t run away).
We take training very seriously, as poor behavior can lead to a variety of devastating consequences, but we also believe training should be fun for you and for your dog.
